Imitation Plastic that looks like Cast Iron is a new product often called ‘Faux Cast Iron’ in respect of the downpipe system. The gutter is made by Brett Martin and given a texture finish to mimic the sand casted metal guttering of old. There are an array of fancy hopper head products ranging from the basic ogee conical hoppers to the larger Gothic, Bath and long rainwater hopper heads all authentically cast iron looking at a fraction of the price.

Sectional Aluminium Guttering has become very popular over recent years due to the fact that it can be powder coated to match any colour in the RAL colour chart. The product is also liked for it’s recyclable properties and is the lightweight alternative to cast iron. Even a trained eye will find it nearly impossible to tell the difference between cast iron and cast aluminium. The styles are exactly the same although the main difference with aluminium is that the product is virtually maintenance free and will not rust like cast iron.

Seamless Aluminium Gutters originated from Canada and the USA and have been widely used since the 1960’s. The obvious benefit is that the gutter can be made available in one continuous length. This is done by roll forming the pre-painted coil through a nylon and steel roller gutter machine to the specific dimensions and requirements of the property concerned. Zambelli have been developing steel guttering systems with roots dating back to 1860. The system is available in 3 sizes of half round; 100mm, 125mm & 150mm along with the associated 80mm & 100mm round pipe system. The system is available in either galvanised steel or black coated.
